Thanks for the tip Joan. I could always use a timesaver. My workout resources are limited (no trainer or gym, just a stepper and some videos), but I’ll see what moves I can conjure up. Thanks!
Day 15- Rest day… and no i did not do the weight training to make up for Tuesday. Back ache forced me to take a loss. I think my youngest daughter is getting too heavy.
Day 16- 30 min calisthenics (legs, abs, arms) and on with my day.
Day 20. Yes! I’m, 1/5 of the way there! Today i tried to kick it up a notch. 40 minutes of strength training: 2 10min leg sets, one arm set and one ab set. I kept resistance bands on the entire time so that made it more challenging. My arms have been looking more toned for the past week and I’ve lost 7 pounds since day 1. It’s 6:03 am out here on the west coast. Have a Fabulous Friday.
Yup! Call me guilty. I took two rest days rather than 1. So days 21 and 22 (Sat and Sun) involved no workouts. Plus I ate way too many empanadas! But they’re so good and wholesome (and fattening). Oh well, on to the next day. SO today is Monday and my class went on yet another field trip. I thought my morning would consume my time, leaving no opportunity for exercise....and I was right....BUT I made up for it on Monday night with my new Balance Ball!!
Day 23- 40 min Balance Ball workout (20 min abs and 20 min upper body)
Talk about an ab workout! Whew!! The Balance ball is no joke! I like it!!
Lucky for me the Empanadas place is no where close to my house.
SO I’m back on the block after a few days of being too busy and pooped out to post. Let’s seeee. Tuesday (day 24), 20 min workout with balance ball, Wednesday (Day 25), woke up an hour late so no workout, Thursday (day 26), 20 min balance ball routine, Friday (day 27), 37 min balance ball routine. It’s time to add the cardio back. I Haven’t had any more empanandas but I don’t want all that valentine chocolate (that I borrowed from my kids’ candy bags) to extend the waist line i’ve been working on.
Soooooo...... I fell off the bandwagon! Didn’t work out for 6 days, used every excuse in the book, ate more empanadas (not as many thankfully), and grazed on girl scout cookies. What can I say? My daughter’s a scout. Today is Sunday. I worked out on Saturday. Gained about 2 pounds. The downtime started with emotional turmoil that is now over Thankfully I plan on working out tonight. We will see how the coming week goes....one day at a time.
As for falling off the wagon think of it this way you realised you fell off and now you have picked yourself up dusted yourself off and have got back on!
As scott says little steps and repeat. It’s not surprising that an occassional slip will happen as you are changing your habits and the old ones might surface evry now and again but aslong as you can take control and get the reason why you want to change back in focus then keep moving you will get to your goals.
Keep going and well done for getting back on that wagon.
Hi Karen! Thanks very much for the inspiring comments. I’m picking up, dusting off, and jumping back on that wagon! I realize that I need to write down my goals and my reasons for getting fit. I am going to try to stay focused on doing what is good for me without letting life get in the way. By the way I teach 5th graders (They’re ten years old).
