Greetings all!
I started this challenge last year and then was diagnosed with RA.  It’s been playing havoc with my body since last June and I’ve decided not to let it get the best of me!  I have good days and bad days…
I actually started moving again before the first of the year but haven’t logged anything.  So.... here goes!
This will be day 1.

I have done my homework and I’m ready to SM&SM;.

The most importat part of all of this is the journey to a better me and the friends I meet along the way.

Off to the gym now and I will post my workout when I get back.

TA!TA!

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

Thanks for the welcome Tom and Bree!

I had a great workout for day one.

40 minutes of resistance training:
biceps
triceps
shoulders
chest
Ab workout on an incline bench - 2 sets of 10 with a 4# weight

Cardio:  my new favorite piece of machinery is the Concept 2 rowing machine.  I’ve been rowing for 8 days now.  Working my way up to more and more time.  I’m not real fast but building endurance as I go.  Today I rowed for a whole hour, thank heavens for Scott’s podcast, and rowed 8500 meters.  Not a very good distance but now I have a goal, I would like to do 10,000m in an hour.

Day 2~ was housecleaning day… also did some stairs, chair squats and lunges.

Day 3 ~ 40minutes of rowing on the C2 and an ab series.

Leaving tomorrow for a week.... off to a conference at the Hershey Lodge, yes, the home of the Hershey Kiss.... I’ll journal on my trip and post it when I get back next week.  I am taking all my workout stuff and will be visiting the workout room and the pool.
