jntgrossman, welcome to the 100 days, in regards to your question there is no right answer, if your motivated enough to workout at home go for it, whats your physical condition like?

thanks for the response..and yup, I would also say that anything that keeps me going would work.. I am a former athlete, with a few years on me..but I work out several times a week..have done Nautilus and cardio classes at a club, but I am getting real protective of my joints as I am seeing alot of injuries amongst my peers so I eased back from the club..I just am not finding the at home weights (bands ball etc) very challenging.
Also I was wondering about the Urban rebounder..
Thanks

Shawn great answer...Rebounding can be just as tough on the joints.  Not knowing your age and weight, but I would suggest Glucosamine Chondroitin 750/600mg I am 39 and 270-280lbs, I take 3 of these each day and I run, bike, use elliptical machines, and practice martial arts...and my joints are hanging in there.  The Glucosamine Chondroitin, lubes the joints, and helps the cartilage remain flexible and also helps rebuild it.  It’s all in how you take care of your body.  You have a great start with the 35lbs down already.

Hi and welcome to MTM land and the 100 day challenge!!!  If you are worried about high impact exercise and its effects on your joints,do check out some alternative low impact activity.  Scott talks about “LSB” all the time, Long Slow Burn and how it can be beneficial.  Keep us posted on your successes.

If your worried about your joints I suggest you try and find a strength training regiment that will help you build up your troubled areas, remember:weights are not only to build muscle but also for building up tendons and sinue that support the joints and the bones. If you have a specific problem I suggest you go see a sports physiotherapist.

Love all the comments..thanks.  Did not know about rebounder and joints..and I never really thought about strength training for joint strength..but I have been slacking there.  Do you all like machine weights or free weights..and are weights a LSB activity also?
Thanks
