Congratulations on the 35th anniversary.  It sounds like you have something really special.  Here’s to staying fit and healthy so you can have at least 35 years more.

Happy Anniversary, Deb. 35 years is awesome. Not many people can say that! I hope you and your husband had a great day. Did you do anything special to celebrate?

Day 7

60 minutes LSB

30 minutes Bowflex

Thanks for all the congrats guys! We celebrated by eating out: I ate a grilled chicken sandwich (325 calories) and a small root beer (125 calories). He had a battered deep-fried cod sandwich (750 calories), a small root beer (125) and a medium chocolate malt (968 calories). I’m working hard at being fit and healthy for another 35 years - him, I’m not so sure…

You are working hard and have the results to prove it.  Congrats on 35 years with the guy.  My wife’s only put up with me for 20 years.  Guess we’re in it for the long haul.

Congratulations on your celebration, and that you could keep your caloric intake reasonable.  Remember that you only control your actions, not his and you are not responsible for his choices.

He will get on the fitness wagon when he is ready.  I only hope it’s not the motivator of last resort that gives him that push.  You are an angel for being so supportive, and when (not if) the time comes that he needs to make some changes in his lifestyle, just think that you will be there for him.

Now you’ve got me curious. What was the epiphany (if you’re willing to share)?

(I just discovered that I can access MTM from school. The buses are arriving so it’s almost time to go home and I’m in a supervisory assignment right now with the computer in front of me.)

What a good thing to be passionate about. One of these days you’re going to motivate me to try yoga.

Day 11

60 minutes LSB

30 minutes Bowflex

I’ve been doing a little something different everyday on the Bowflex. Today I lowered my normal weight by 10 pounds and added three reps per set. I thought alternating that with my regular weight at 12 reps and 10 pound heavier weight with 8 reps. Just trying to keep my body guessing!  surprised

Day 12

60 minutes LSB

I slept in this morning, my first thought was it’s too late to walk, I’ll swap tomorrow’s rest day with today. But then I asked “Why is it too late?” It’s not like I have plans for the day or anything. So I jumped on the treadmill for my walk. No Excuses!

Good for you. You’ve motivated me to get off the forum for now and back to my housework. “No excuses.” smile

No excuses - excellent motto.  You are as regular as the sun rising.  Now I’m going over to your journey.  Actually, I pretty much combine my challenge with my journey.

By the way, your hubby has no choice but to be inspired by you.  My wife got a good 2 year start on me, but I finally came around.  I guess us guys are just slow naturally!

Day 13

Scheduled Rest Day

Thanks Brad! You’ve given me hope for my husband. He did join me about a year ago for maybe 4 months, lost about 50 pounds, getting down to 300, plateaued, and promptly quit. He hasn’t been on the scale since, so I don’t know whether he’s gained it all back or not, but he has reverted back to his unhealthy eating. I won’t give up on him! Thanks! It is rather confusing having a 100 Day Journal, and another one in the journal section...I started that one before there was the 100 Day Challenge, so I’ve kept them both, putting the moving here, and the “between the ears stuff” there (for the most part).  confused

“No excuses” can be ignored where housework is concerned Joan.  cheese

Day 14

60 minutes LSB

30 minutes Bowflex

I upped my weights by 10 pounds today and lowered my reps to 8 - it was pretty tough. I do hope my body doesn’t read my journal, I’m trying to confuse it!  LOL

Deb,

You are doing so well this year! Glad to hear you are feeling better about things also. I’ve called myself a
slacker too and I don’t see that in your excercise routines at all.

I do love yoga and try for 20 minutes each night, it is relaxing and yet can be quite challenging at times. Also, my
question, is the bowflex easy to use, easy in the way of changing the weights for different excercises. Been toying with
the idea of getting one for my home gym.
