Tri-ing:
Well, I’ve decided to train for a triathlon or two!? in 2008 as a fitness goal. I think having an event will keep me on track and give some added motivation. I got this brilliant idea after asking for Nike+ shoes and ipod connect for Christmas and researching 5K’s in the area. Instead I found quite a few triathlons and decided I could do that with some hard work. I developed a plan and started training on December 27, 2007. Join me on my journey to a healthier me and competing in my First & Second Triathlon and First 5K cool smile

1. Loose 30 lbs-Weigh 140lbs
2. Loose 3 inches in the Hips-Hip Measurement: 39”
3. Loose 3 inches in the Waist-Waist Measurement: 28”

The Plan:
Swim, Bike, Run, Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, Ballet, Weights, Abs-all in training for the triathlon.

Challenges & Obstacles to Overcome:
1. Taking 20 hours this semester
2. A lot of walking at work wearing me out
3. Injury
4. Lack of Motivation
5. Out of Town Trips

Deal w/ It:
1. Make a plan and stick to it
2. Log on for motivation and accountability
3. Stretch & listen to my body

Hey Jenni.  I am not yet brave enough to try a 5k or tri.  Your goals look awesome and I can’t wait to cheer you on at your races!

Jenni -

I thought I was looking at my post. I’m also 5’5” and 166 lbs. Pretty close...and I am going to train for some 5K races next summer and POSSIBLY a tri-athlon hosted here in my home town. I just don’t know where I will train for the swimming part yet.

Keep up the good work-
Carla

Well, I got in an unintended work out when the dog got off her chain. I don’t know how she did it, her collar was still buckled at the end of the chain. I’ll have to start calling her Houdini. So I had to bundle up and go out and find her and chase her back home. Dogs are fast. Now my head really hurts.  cool hmm

Poor thing. It’s so cold, and your dog is fast. How long did it take you to find her?

It didn’t take too long to find her; she was in the back yards of the houses that face the main road. Chasing her back home was another story.

Hey Jenni.  I know about the dogs.  My vet calls mine a “door dasher”.  I found the only way to chase him is make sure he knows “sit” really well. LOL.  Come on.  We have to get those miles going in the Nike challenge!  Get out there!
