It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

I’m in an 80’s kick right now. Good beats and reminds me of being a kid at the pool in the summer with all my friends and the biggest decision was who’s house to go to after the pool closed. I almost started singing Whip It by Devo at the gym the other day.  red face Luckily I didn’t have the breath to try. I was getting into it.

Hi guys,

While I don’t have any specific playlists, here are a few songs guaranteed to get my toes tapping:

- Ghostbusters theme
- All That Jazz (Chicago)
- Captain Kidd (Great Big Sea)
- Confusion (New Order)
- Halycon & On (Orbital)
- I Love Rock & Roll (Joan Jett)
- Love Shack (B-52s)
- Mortal Kombat theme
- Tainted Love (Soft Cell)
- When I’m Up (Great Big Sea)—actually, lots of stuff by Great Big Sea

So that’s it from up here in Montreal, where they’re predicting 15-25 cm of snow today.  I guess I’m not walking outside!

Cheers,
Julie

September (Earth Wind & Fire)
Shining Star (Earth Wind & Fire)
Fantasy (Earth Wind & Fire)
Let’s Groove (Earth Wind & Fire)
Sing a Song (Earth Wind & Fire)

Can you tell I’m a late ‘70s, early 80’s kind of gal? grin

And Judy....Earth Wind and Fire set....sounds GREAT!

I know my iTunes account is going to be EXSPENSIVE this month!!

Thanks for all the great playlists.

Today, mine was Scotts Podcast, Afterburner, Daily Boost, then just ‘shuffled’ through my tunes....

Gonna Make You Sweat: C+C Music Factory
It Takes Two: Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock
Bust A Move: Young MC
Push It (Remix): Salt N Pepper
Rock Your Body: Justin Timberlake
The Way You Move (Radio Remix): Outkast

Hey, Tom, thanks for the always uplifting encouragement on the boards and for combining our music threads. I think there’s an old one out there that I missed, Rosebud, so I’m guilty of the same thing when I started the playlist thread.  It’s all good.

I’m really enjoying everyone’s input.  I also tried the Couch to 5K podcast you guys have mentioned in the forum and I could actually DO it!  Surprised myself.  Right now in the first week it’s only run 60 seconds, walk 90, but hey, for a short, stubby, non-runner I did pretty good.  wink

Just got 2 Squirrel Nut Zipper cd’s from a friend.  You guys recommended that band.  Weird and silly, but fun swing music!

My playlist has been mostly Couch to 5K this week, although I did listen to most of Scott’s Unplugged (Whew!) and the Fitting It In podcast.  I really like Weight Loss and the Mind, FitCast, and Fitness Rocks.

from FitSugar.com. Not really my cup of tea, but some of you may enjoy it.

In recognition of Atlanta being crowned the Asthma Capital of the USA, this week’s play list is a compilation of music from Atlanta based artists—With Usher and Outkast on the play list, this list is sure to keep you (and your heart) moving during your workout.
Total PLOW=37:28

Welcome to Atlanta - Jermaine Dupri
Money Maker - Ludacris
Yeah - Usher
Bombs Over Baghdad - Outkast
Snap Ya Fingers - Lil John
Real - Lil Scrappy
Bring Them Out - Ti
