Hi All,

At 30 years young, I am glad that I found this site at this time in my life.  My name is Misty and I’ve been a member of MTM for two months. In the second week of joining, I became a premium member and started the SMSM program. It was challenging to incorporate it into my daily life, but I stuck with it and lost 5 lbs. I’m going through the program a second time as of this posting.

Through the last couple of weeks, I’ve been in a plateau. The thing is, I feel my body getting into shape; my heart is stronger, and I’m seeing subtle signs of developing muscle. Even though the scale is staying the same at 230 lbs., I can see my body in the mirror firming up again. I think that my body is used to being at 225-235 lbs, so I understand remaining at this plateau for a while. The pic attached represents where I am now. My first goal is to lose 30-40 lbs, to get out of the “200 zone”.

At the same time I’ve been making efforts to be “more gooder than badder” when eating, and I’ve been successful at it.

I don’t know how often I’ll post, but I am very much inspired by the MTM community.

Hi Misty!

Welcome to MTMLand!  I’m glad you’ve come out of lurk!  grin

It sure sounds like you’re off to a fantastic start.  The SMSM program is a great way to get going and on the right track.

Have you considered tackling the 100 Days of Exercise Challenge?  I know for me, there’s been something almost magical about posting my exercise daily and getting all of the “atta-girls”.  It really has helped me to just keep moving towards my fitness goals.

I wouldn’t worry about your plateau.  Just keep moving.  You’ll continue getting more fit, even if the scale doesn’t budge for a while.

I’m glad you’re here!

Welcome, Misty!!! Way to go on the SMSM program, congrats on losing the first 5 pounds! Feels great, doesn’t it?

What time range are you looking to get to 200 in?

Thank you all for your responses so far!

Judypatooty, I will look into the 100 Days of Exercise Challenge. I wanted to see how I would do with the SMSM program first.

CandyP, I think I’m located very close to you. You’re in Orange County, right? I live in Garden Grove.

Thanks for the congrats, Bree. While being in this plateau mode, It’s difficult to anticipate when I’ll reach 200. Right now it looks like I could reach that goal in 4-5 months.

Thank you too for welcoming me, delirium trigger!

I’d like to share something that happened to me the same day of my initial post. I was unsure whether or not I was making the progress I wanted. While at work, a co-worker asks, “Misty, are you losing weight?” I thanked her so much for noticing!! She told me she had been noticing for a couple of weeks, she just hadn’t said anything until now. This has truly made my day, and has given me the confidence to continue my good workout and nutrition habits.

Those comments make all the hard work seem so much easier, don’t they?

I must say, you carry your weight very well, when you reach your goal, the world will definitely be wowed!

Misty we’re so close!  I live in Laguna Niguel.  If you ever want to meet up for a hike let me know.  I think there are some good trails half way between us.
