Hi everyone,

Thanksgiving is past, but the holidays are just getting underway.  So… how are you doing?  Have you stumbled a bit, or are you right on track?

Now, while it’s still early, is the time to sit down for five minutes (maybe even, *gasp*, get on a scale) and do a fast status-check.  I realized yesterday that my weight had gone above the limit I set for it.  Oh noes!  The good news was that I caught it early and, two days (and a few walks) later, I’m right where I should be.  I’m so happy that I’m keeping an ongoing status check, so that I can catch little problems before they’re big problems.  My lack-of-stress levels are pretty good, I’m feeling great, and I’m ready to keep zooming.

So… how about you?

Cheers,
Julie

Good for you Julie!

Keeping with my plan to lose weight this Holiday season. I weighed in this a.m. and have lost 1 pound. 5 to go!
Really watching calorie intake and doubling up my cardio a few times a week are helping.

My stress levels will increase as the Christmas week approaches. Very busy for the food industry in South Florida, happens
each year. But i am going to overcome that stress with nightly yoga workouts. Mini 20 minute sessions.

Thanksgiving was a very stressful time for me.  I was off work for the entire week, but my parents were visiting, so I don’t feel like I got much of a break.  Oh, all three kids were home from school as well.  My weight crept up a bit through the week, but today I am back to my lowest weight all fall.

Two big things happened over the week.

First, I realized that the diet plan that I was following was giving me too many calories for the weight that I am now down to.  I finally took the time to calculate my BMR!

Second, I bought a heart rate monitor and found that I was no where near the target zone for the LSB.  I have been using the HRM for about a week now doing LSB for an hour.  I was really off in my rate of perceived exertion.

So, all in all, my break at thanksgiving gave me the time to put myself back on track.  I feel good having “figured out” why my weight has not dropped for several months now.
