I found the world around me changing--and I was changing with it.  After working within a block of my home for many years, I suddenly had to commute to work.  And, I had a new IPOD with all this space to fill.  What better way to pass the commute time than with a great podcast?  I went looking for motiviation to pick up the shattered pieces of my life up off the floor and fight the forces that were trying to keep me down.  The rest is history, here I am!  The information I have found here is just so great, I had to become a premium member!  I am hoping to build my own sucess story.  Just reading the boards lets me know that I am not alone, we are all in this together, and we can do it!  WE can do anything we put our minds to, and together we are only stronger.  I have read a lot about accountability, so here I am, hoping that it will be the rope that I can use to climb out of this hole for good.  I would love to hear from any of you that are struggling, just like me!— Sandi

Hi Sandi!

Welcome to MTMLand!

I know what you mean about filling up a new iPod with inspiring and motivating things!  That’s how I found Scott’s podcasts, too, almost a year ago.

And what a difference it has made!  grin This former couch potato is nearly finished with her third 100 Days of Exercise Challenge!  big surprise

I really recommend that you check out the 100 Days section and think about starting your own Challenge.  You’ll be amazed at all the support and encouragement you’ll get, all along the way to reaching your fitness goals.

I’m glad you’re here!

P.S.  My grandmother was born in Laconia!

Welcome from another person who lives in New Hampshire (Nashua to be exact)

I just moved here this year and live real close to Greeley Park and love to run my dog through the park!

wow-thanks for the warm welcome!  One of you asked me if I had any goals.  Well, yes, lots of them, and I think from listening to some things that Scott has said, I need to be more specific!  I had a terrible accident almost 2 years ago, took a bad tumble while skiing and nearly twisted the bottom half of my leg off.  After several surgeries and endless hours of physical therapy, my main goal is to just be normal.  To look at someone walking down a hill and say, “man, I remember when I could just do that, not think about it and then be afraid of it, but just do it without thinking and then go onto the next thing like it was no big deal.” I can walk now without a limp if I really put my mind to it, but stairs are still a challenge.  and running, ha, well, okay.  It would be nice to run a marathon someday, but for now, I will shoot for getting as strong as I can be, and hoping for the best.  I may never be what I once was, but I can be better in the future in so many different ways!  Funny how running half as far as I used to would mean twice as much to me now.  Don’t take anything for granted, take care of yourselves, you only get one body in this lifetime.

What a way to get that lesson, wow. Do you have any restrictions now?

I have a feeling that your drive will get you to where you want to be. You are such an inspiration!

Hi and welcome.

New Hampshire is a wonderful place to live.

I understand what you are going through.  I also had a bad fall skiing about 20 years ago.  big surprise  (Has it been that long!!) After the rehab, I was back on skis, and hiking, but I never considered trying to run.  I’m not the same as I was before, but in ways I’m better.  You can learn to appreciate life, be grateful for what you can do, and value it much more.  I’m over 50, and I’m still very active and do a lot of outdoor sports.  We all have lessons to learn in life and the universe has some ‘interesting’ ways of teaching us.  Take care and keep posting.  I’m sure that your thoughts will be very inspiring to many people.
