Karyn,
I have just caught up with your thread.  I too have just caught the running bug and am just starting to prepare for my first 5K in September.  I went to the following website and found lots of great information about training, shoes, motivation, etc, http://www.runnersworld.com/ Check it out I think you may find it to be useful.  On Saturday July 28th will be my first run.  Up to this point I have used the gym exsulively.  You should check out the Ellipitical machine, it is lots of fun and a great workout.  Enjoy the journey of finding your life’s passion, make it fun and enjoyable.  Have fun dreaming and trying out different things in your dreams.  Talk to others who are in your possible dream journey.  Just curious you had mentioned a little about your home based business, just curious if you could tell a little bit more about that.  Looking forward to more of your posts.

Home from vacation
Aug 6
My vacation can be summarized in two worlds = Long walks! We’ve been walking a lot I now realized, swimming almost everday too, it have been great. I have become re-energized and I am now more focused on feeling great enjoying life everyday.

Scooby, witch one is the “Ellipitical machine”? I have tried to look up the word in a dictionary but I haven’t found out what it is yet. When I made up my mind to start running I looked at runnersword.com yes, it’s a great site.
About my home based business; I am working as a WellnessCoach with Herbalife International. I’m focusing on getting people to change there lives. It is mainly about controlling their weight through what they eat, but now I am telling them more and more to go and work out smile It is a great job that you can take with you anywhere in the world. Now that I have finished my studying, I can focus more on working with my own business this autumn so I hope I will get more business rasberry so I can get the lifestyle I want to wink . It is a fantastic opportunity to be able to help people I think.

Tomorrow I am going to the gym again, I can’t wait!! I really love to work out and making myself more attractive and healthy. Here are a picture from my vacation, sitting in a boat - we are going out in the sea looking at some windcrafts (? windpower)..

That sounds like a wonderful career, Karyn! How rewarding.

Here’s what an elliptical is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptical_trainer.

Have a great Monday!

A Dream

To be able to run 10km...

now I can run about 1.5km
red face
believe me, I have made progress since I started the 100days of exercise, back then I coulden’t run at all!
But it feels like a long way to go. It’s only 48 days to my first 10km run - scary - But it will be fun smile

I have been going to the gym, three times now, doing some fitness training to build some muscles, I don’t have that many LOL well I haven’t meet them yet rasberry and then some running, it’s fun and I feel that I am getting a good workout.
I have increased my training to running on 3times a week and going to the gym 2times so it’s 5 days of work out now. I am going to get in shape so I can reach my dream, maybe not this autumn, but I am on my way…

Thanx bree for the picture of the elliptical, I have used that one a couple of times at the gym, a great work out!

Don’t worry about the muscles, Keep doing the weight workouts and push yourself a little, they will probably introduce themselves.

Your training schedule sounds awesome.  I’m sure you will get yourself in shape to reach your 10K goal.

Karyn,
Wow sounds like you are doing really well in the gym with your workouts.  Don’t worry you will be meeting those muscles really soon.  One day when you least expect it you will see some muscles come out.  Your home business sounds really neat, I wish you all the best with that.  I’m sure you will be hitting that 10k goal soon.  Keep us posted.

Karyn, you’ll do that 10k just fine, and those muscles will pop out and say hi soon. Enjoy the journey.

Update
Another report from my life
Yesterday I tried to do 10k - it toke 84 minutes ... running/walking/jogging ... well I can’t say that I am pleased with myself, but I did make a good try. My goal is under 80 minutes, then under 70 and down to 60 minutes smile Than I will be really happy, but I know it is a progress that’s going to take some time. In the beginning I wasn’t so serious with my workouts and so I have myself to blame. In the beginning of 2007, I didn’t move much at all so I guess I’m on my way to a better condition now.
Last time I went to the gym I did 60 min of, (I don’t know the right word for this in English, you use all kinds of machines to life weights of… fitness training is the only word I can find in my dictionary but i think that’s not quit right) and after that I did 30 minutes on the Ellipitical machine. It was really a workout but it was so great! I really miss the gym ... I haven’t been there for 5 days tongue wink I am going down there the day after tomorrow, so I am really longing for some gym-time, and i am not crazy LOL. Every time I am done with my workout and should leave the gym, I feel so ... well I feel like I want to stay and do more, at this point my body says “Hey I am tired!” and I leave already missing my gym…

Running

I know it was a long time since I wrote here regularly, but I think I should start coming here more often now smile
I neeed get better at running. At this point I don’t enjoy it, it feels hard, tiring and just not fun anymore. Why don’t I get any better?  hmmm Here in Sweden it is now getting cold, the first snow came yesterday - not a good inspiration for getting out there, and run unfortunately. But I know I need to train for the the run next year, I want to make it under the hour. Maybe I should start a 100days of exercise challenge again? So I can become inspired to get moving again…

You need to move in a way that is fun for you.  If you aren’t motivated to run, maybe you need to look for another way to keep moving.  What about skiing, now that it is winter and there is snow.  I’ve heard that cross country skiing is beautiful and a great workout.

Starting another 100 day challenge may be the right thing to get you motivated again, then in the spring, you may find that running becomes more appealing.

Hello again!
a short follow up...

It was almost a year since I wrote here. A long time. After the last time I wrote here I drifted away from MTM and this forum. I was confused as you can read in my posts. Looking back I think I had a small depression, but now life’s totally diffrent. A couple of months ago I started to listen to the MTM show again, just for fun, and now I think it’s time for me to write here.

So now I am back, happier, healthier and a better runner smile Today I can run 10k without any trubble, and in a week it is time to me to break last years record in the same a 10k run as last year now I am going to do it under 60min!
I am happier because I trust in and believe that everything is going to be alright it I just keep moving forward. I don’t need to know everything now. I am also happier because I got married this march and my husband have begun his journey to become a healthy runner too smile.
Another reason for me to say that I am healthier is that during my journey to become a runner I have lost 3,4kg without even thinking about it and I have not change anything in my diet, well that is not true, I have been eating more, because I have been training so hard!

So now I am enjoying my life and feeling fantastic, asking myself how I want to feel everyday. My journey started with listing to MTM in the spring of 2007, now I’m still moving and have a totally new better life. Just thought that I should let you know!
