Wow, cool! Can’t wait!

I’m thinking instead of running on a track which would be so boring, I would measure out the distance from my car. That would be relatively accurate.

Christina you could use gmap pedometer to measure your distance.

Yehah...I can do it. If I stay on the Redwood loop proper where I walk it is 0.8 miles around so when I do 4 loops I do 3.2 miles. I just looked up 5K and it equals 3.1 miles Is that correct? Sometimes I go off up the hiking trails and change it up to add time and change the view, but I’m in for the week-end of the 13th and 14th maybe even both days....I’m excited because I know I can do this and the thought of doing it with everyone else is even better.

Bree thanks for tagging my thread with the URL or I might never have seen it. That was a brilliant idea. Your going to get more butt off of the couch than you possible know...starting with mine.

Yay, Denise! I’m still thrilled with all of us on board, this is so exciting.

Bree and all my MTM buddies......I just went and signed up for the 13.1 miles. I’ve got a month to train and I’m already doing 3.2 fairly easily, so I’m going to go for the the half marathon. I’m number 806. I think I’ll make a sign to hang on my sweatshirt with my number to make me feel more official.....lol.  I don’t care if it takes me all day to finish.  I will finish this marathon. How long does it usually take to do that many miles so I can be realistic as a beginner?

Shawn....I signed up on the link given by Bree, and I was number 806. Is there another thing I have to sign up for? Please post that link.

Hey Denise, I had the same question.  Tonight I noticed how to do it.  When looking at the Teams page, to the right side of the page, there is a Join link for each team, just click on it.

So, now that I’ve figured that part out, I’d like to officially say that I’ve added myself to the team and I’ll be doing a 5K.  Thanks Bree, and Shawn, for putting this out there.  Great idea!

Thanks Liz....I clicked on it and the word join disappeared. Is there a place that I can look at a list of who is on the team?

Yeah Denise, that’s what happens- “Join” disappears.  If you then click on the link for Team_MTM, then you should see yourself in the list.  I just checkd and I see you there, so welcome!  grin

Thanks Shawn! There’s a road that loops around the area where I live that’s about 4K, so if I go about 1.25 times around that’ll make a great 5K route. I checked out the Phedippidations podcasts as well and downloaded a bunch. They seem really well put together, it’s the kind of thing I like to listen to. I like looking for new podcasts to listen to and I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this before! Thanks to whoever mentioned them!

This is wonderful! I also saw this thread as one of the featured threads on the weekly newsletter! And Kevin’s signature line has the challenge as well! I’m so excited!!!
