Brilliant! I loved it! I’ve never gotten to the point of bloody nipples. If it gets unbearable I just take off my shirt. Going down the stairs is worse than up in my opinion.
That’s hilarious, Ada. I haven’t done any marathons (or anything close!) recently, but I remember feeling that way when I was a kid and did the March to Jerusalem. (An 18 km walk in Montreal—that’s a lot when you’re 10 years old!)

Ummmm.... I don’t think the girls and I have that option! LOL
I actually agree, going down stairs can be a torture!
That was really funny. Reminds me of the way I felt after riding 50 miles on my bike this summer for the American Lung Association Bike Ride. I was moving that slow after the last day. Ok this may sound like a silly question but I have to ask it. What is body glide?? What do you use it for?? When do you use it?? Is it a runners thing to use?? I am actually getting started into running so maybe this might be helpful for me to know about. Anybody who can nicely tell me what it is used for I would really appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance for help on that one.
hello scoobydoo! body glide is used by male runners during long runs (marathons mostly). They rub it on whatever part that will chafe, especially the nipples, because a lot of guys’ nipples will start bleeding in long runs. There are many other options other than the body glides (you can stick band aids over your nipples), but body glide is a pretty inexpensive way to solve the problem.
If you’re only starting to run, you don’t really have to worry about bloody nipples!
YAY I’m so happy you’re starting to run! I love running too! Good luck to you!
Ok then it sounds to me like I would need to look into this if I start going into marthons. Which at this point in time I am more concerned with the 5K run. Next year will probably look at 10K’s and maybe even a half marthon. Can this stuff be found at a grocery store like Jewel, Walmart, Dominicks, etc. Or do you need to go to speciality sports store for it. What brands are good to buy??? Thanks again for your help with this one, I truly do appreciate.
Hey scoobydoo you had better ease into running slowly! You wouldn’t want to get a running injury and be out for weeks! It’s cool that you want to run races!
Body glide is an actual brand, so it is called Body Glide. I personally never saw these in common retail stores (but I’m not too sure because I’m a girl), but I’m pretty sure you can get them at specialty stores. Or the easiest way is to just buy it online.
Isn’t odd that a girl is answering questions on a guy product to a guy???
By the way if you want to find out more about running go to coolrunning.com. They have lots of stuff you can learn, and you can also find races there. Good luck on running!
That is pretty funny!! Thanks for answering my questions I do appreciate. I am just concerned right now with running in a 5K to finish. I am not looking to tear up the track or set time records, just a simple goal of finishing my very first 5K. I am looking at either September or October. At this point it will probably be October. Then next year will probably do more 5K’s if i enjoy it. No I want to do this for the fun of it and I don’t want to injure myself. Maybe in the last post my ego got a little inflated, can’t hurt to dream. Just need to be realistic about it. Thanks for the link I do appreciate. Will keep you posted on my running results. Tommorrow will be my 2nd day of running. I am really looking forward to it alot. Thanks for all of your help and advice I do appreciat it alot.
Hey scoobydoo no problem dreaming! I want to run a half maybe in 1 year too! And maybe a marathon a few years later! I think the goals you’re setting are pretty realistic! 5k’s are really fun because you can run as hard as you want because it’s really short. Are you doing some kind of running program? Oh never mind I can just go to your thread and find out Keep up the good work! I’m really excited for you!
By the way a normal stick deodorant works pretty well at preventing chaffing too!
