Hi guys, I’ve been listening to the podcast for long enough (in fact, it’s one of the first I subscribed to) so I figured it was time I posted in here.

I’ve recently restarted my diet (although I hate calling it that) and am pleased with the progress so far. I know some of it will be water weight but it’s still nice to see some progress.

Anyway, I’d like to thank Scott for the excellent podcast and you guys for forming such an excellent community around it. It’s encouraging that other podcasters and bloggers (hi Adam!) are appearing here as well, I think that’s the difference between a forum for a podcast and a genuine community.

"Manchester, England, England… across the Atlantic Sea...” Sorry. The local theater company is putting on Hair next month and I have had that and other songs stuck in my head since they announced the show.

Hi Stephen. Welcome to the group!

And congratulations on your progress with the non-diet. I’m with you, I don’t like that word either because it’s so negative and because I don’t like telling people I’m on a diet.  I say stuff like “eating better” “healthy phase” “mind your own business.” Just kidding on that last one.

See you ‘round the boards.

I’m guessing you guys are too young to remember Richard Simmons and his never say Di-et, say “LIVE IT” philosophy from the 80’s… that’s always stuck with me…

hmm… that reminds me of some of his other favorite phrases…

“You put it there, so lift it up and put it down” (he said while coaching you to do a certain exercise - will leave that to your imagination) rolleyes

“A moment past the lips… forever on the hips”

“Nothing tastes better than thin feels”

Anyway...to Stephen from Manchester, England, welcome!  Now could you pass the scones and clotted cream.....mmmm
