Angel Food Trifle

I usually make one of these little trifles if I have a sweets urge, it is pretty and yum-o (and healthy too!)

Ingredients

Handful of cubed Angel Food Cake
Fat-Free Cool Whip
Sliced Strawberries (or berry of your choice)
A few shavings of Dark Chocolate

I layer Cool whip, Angel food cake cubes, and strawberries in a crystal goblet, making the final layer of Cool Whip.  I then take a bar of dark chocolate and use my veggie peeler and put a few chocolate shavings on top for garnish.  This dessert is light and delish!

Is this what you made for the 4th of July?  (I’m picturing blueberry and strawberry layers.)

That sounds good. I have one similar to that which uses orange sugar free jello poured on it similar to a “Poke Cake”.  I’ll dig up the recipe and post it later - likely this week.

I love this recipe - this is something one could make and take somewhere - others will eat it - and it would be a “safe” food for myself - thanks for the great idea!

That is so true Jen!!! Sometimes I dread parties for the simple reason of no “healthy” food and the lack of my control with what is in each dish! I made this for the 4th of July so that way I knew, at least I could have dessert!!!!
