Well she’s finally arrive in MTM Land.

My wife Sheryl, the woman who created the “I eat what my wife feeds me diet” has begun to hang out around the community.

We’ve been married over 25 years so having her around here just makes it feel more like home.  Besides that, I think you’ll like her too.

Sheryl supports me in Motivation To Move on many levels and we’ve studied much of the same material over the years.

Where my area of interest is health, fitness and self-improvement motivation, Sheryl leans to the more spiritual side of things and is a Reiki Master working with universal healing energy to help others.

We’re a good match.

When you see Sheryl around, make her welcome - she has a lot to share.

Also - I’ve begun a new category called “Lift Your Spirit” - a place for the things that makes FEEL better and BE better.

Hey Scott,

I am on the same diet.  That’s what happens when you have a good woman standing beside you.

Welcome Sheryl it is a pleasure to meet you.

All the best,
Stu

Hi Sheryl! *waves*

Wow… reiki?  You’ve got to come onto the show and talk with Scott about reiki!  It’s always something I’ve been interested in, but I’ve never had the money to take one of the courses or atunement sessions.

So… hi!  And welcome!

Julie

Welcome Sheryl!!

You know what they say, “behind a good man is a GREAT woman”.  Good work on Scott!! ha ha ha

Its good to have you aboard!.....

Regarding your spouse helping with diets.....I started this the ‘new way’ of eating about a month ago.  (don’t really call it a diet, because it’s just the way I’ve chosen to eat - more intentionally). I even went into the pantry and the refrigerator and threw away a whole bunch of stuff.  Went to a local health food store (Jimbos, here in Carlsbad), and only have healthy stuff in the kitchen (lots of fresh veggies too!).
I borrowed my mom-in-law’s scale and body fat (cool dual purpose machine) and have been tracking my food (and excercise) for about a month.

Today my wife said....hey maybe i can join you....looks like you lost some weight, and you are looking better too.  She is not fat by any measure, but says she could lose a pound or two.  So now we are doing it together and it’s great!  (I love the support).

From listening to Scott, it sounds like you guys really enjoy life.  I’m excited for you both about the new house in Colorado (sounds beautiful-especailly the 10 French maids!).

Just picked up Principles for Success on ebay and it shares a lot of what Scott talks about. (thanks for the tip Scott) Cool Stuff!

All the best to you! and it’s great to have you in the ‘community’)

Hey, do you ever go up with Scott in the plane (do you like flying?).  I think that that would be a blast and it’s on my list to learn (of the 30 things to do before I die).

Bye for now
Tom in Carlsbad, CA.

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Hi Tom and thank you for the kind words.

Good luck with your “list of 30 things” - what number is flying?  Yes, I have gone up with Scott and his instructor a few times now and love it!  I look forward to taking cross-country trips by ourselves when he gets his license.  I think that flying really gives you a fresh perspective… seeing the curve of the horizon and everything so small below makes you feel connected in a way you don’t feel on the ground.  And there is something special about being high enough in altitude that you’re up above all the hustle-bustle of life.  It really clears your head and makes some ‘space’ for creative thinking while you’re up there.  Although… Scott says it’s hard to go back to work after a morning of flying! grin

As for the intentional eating plan with your wife, it will probably seem even easier as you begin to do it together… it works that way for us.

Thanks again,
Sheryl

Hi Sheryl,

Hello from the wilds of Lilburn, Georgia!

Just checking out the new community—very impressive! I have to say I feel better when you go along with Scott. That way you can keep my little brother flying high and straight!

Seriously, it’s nice to see Motivation to Move having such a tremendous effect on so many people. I’ve watched Scott work towards this goal for years and years, and it seems to me he’s found his “center” with this concept. Looking forward to seeing more and more over the next months.

Say hey to Austin and Carlyn for us.

Hi Sheryl -

I’m glad you are here and part of the community. For so many months you’ve just been “my wife” on the pod casts and so it’s great to get the chance to know you as Sheryl.  smile

It is kinda nice to have a name now!  haha Scott has been trying to get me to say hi for quite awhile - sorry it took so long.  (I am a little slow to move in the technology department - it took me years to get into emails or the internet at all.) At least you know that he didn’t make up that ‘wife’ person he talks about!

I do appreciate all the kind words of welcome.  Actually, I have been really enjoying reading the posts, getting to know you all and relating to what you are talking about.  (I am a self confessed sweet tooth!) I can see it has quickly become a great ‘place’ to share stories and pick up some helpful insights.

Laura, I like how you used an adorable doggy in your photo spot… what is his/her name?  I think I will steal your idea and get a picture of my cats in mine.

Thanks,
Sheryl

Wow, Rainey is going to be thrilled when I tell her you think she’s adorable. smile

She’s an 8-year old silky terrier who loves hiking and tolerates sailing. As you can see by the photo, she always wears her personal flotation device on the water.

I thought about putting my own photo up, but it just seemed like more fun to have a “representational image.” I think it would be great if you use your kitties in your picture.  If they are important to you, then its a great way to use them to help tell people who you are.

Thanks Laura,

Now you can see my kitties… “Mickey” is the all black one (after Mickey Mouse since he was a stray from the grounds of Walt Disney World) and “Allie” is the tuxedo kitty.  It is somewhat appropriate that it says “administrator” above their picture since they pretty much run our lives!  grin

Yes, I seem to remember the one and only time that Scott didn’t do the podcast in a single take, the only time he ever stopped involved a cat/lizard situation. smile

My dog would love your cats.  Because they are the same size as she is, she thinks they will want to play.
