I took an hour walk on the beach yesterday in my bare feet.  Boy did I enjoy it.  However, my feet did not and I have some nice blisters to show for it.

Can anyone recommend any lightweight walking shoes for the beach?

Thank you!

Ouch, wish I could help you out here, but I always go bare foot on the beach (it is a great pedicure isn’t it?!?!)....but then again, I live in Ohio where beaches aren’t quite in my backyard.

I have a pair of “Summer Sneakers” from L.L. Bean that would work.  They are very lightweight and are considered a water shoe, but hve the support of a sneaker.  They are available with a bungee cord (in place of the shoelaces) or as a slip on “Mary Jane” type style.  I wear mine when we go swimming at the lake and they dry very quickly.  I ordere mine from their website -

I highly recommend them!

I have seen something could Aqua Shoes they can be found at stores like Walmart, Kohl’s, Target, or Meijer( Hopefully you have one of these stores in your area).  They can be found for anywhere between $10 to $20.  They are nice and light weight and can get wet, they are made for playing in or around the water.  My wife wears them for water aerobics in the swimming pool and just loves them.  They have good traction on the soles of the shoes.  They also dry up very quickly too.  Hope this helps you out.

Thank you for the great ideas!  I am so lucky - we are less than a 2 minute walk from the beach so I will use the shoes a lot.
