I know there a lot of Californians on the forum - enough to divide between Northern and Southern. Lets check in and see if that person with the iPOD on the next treadmill is another MTM Lander.
And speaking of firsts - we had the First MTM Meet and Greet in the beautiful Napa Valley, just outside of San Francisco.
Hi There,
I’m in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County). Maybe we could organize a walk/run at Chrissy Field in San Francisco sometime this summer.
What do you all think?
I live in Indianapolis, but I’m working on a project in Pleasanton (94588). I’ve been here since January--pretty much every week, M-Th. I walked across the Golden Gate Bridge last week for the first time. WOW! I’m ready to move. There should just not be a day when I can’t do that!
How about if we put a walk together Chrissy Field then the GG Bridge sometime in July? If you want to do this during the week it will have to be early evening for me otherwise a Sat. or Sun. works just fine.
anything in SF would need to be on a weekend day for me ... Sacto is a bit far to try to make it after work ...
I’m a walker though (and not terribly quick at that) ... unless I put Blue Streak in the Element and we go for a bike ride (somewhere there aren’t too many hills or cars).
San Francisco sounds like a cooler spot than the weather we’re having this week.
Yes, Sacramento weather has been brutal this week.
I am a walker. I ride my bike occassionaly but the SF hills are to much for my little bike and me.
If we did a loop course, those that want to run, can run and those that want to walk can walk. And if it is a loop we can all walk at our own speed.
Should we throw out a date - put it on the calendar and I will contact park service for a loop-trail map. I did the Cancer walk training on the Chrissy Field course so I know there is a 5 mile and 10 mile out and back course. Does a 5 mile walk frighten anyone? 10 mile?
Hi There,
OK, how about we say Saturday, August 11 we (menaing anyone who is interested). Meet at Chrissy Field. There is a sporting goods store there, we can meet in front because there is parking too. And then we do a walk and a run. I will put together a 5-mile and a 10-mile.
So if anyone is interested, mark down August 11 in your calendar. Maybe we can get Scott to call one of our cell phones after our walk.

Of course that would be groovy. Your schedule is crazy but think about it. I would think we would have to have enough of us out here to make it worth your while to come out.
How many folks are interested out there in doing this walk?
Hi All,
I am just trying to see if there is any interest out there to do something on August 11 in SF. If not, we can choose another time but we have to start somewhere. So who’s on board? Maybe we can get Scott out here too. But we need to rally the troops to do this.
Best to you all,
Laura
Greetings!
Now we are getting some movement. Let’s see if we can have a really great turnout. Maybe bring in some new members, neighbors, relatives.
The more the better so all levels of endurance can be out there having a great time.
Laura
I’ve got it on my schedule ... now I just need to get some walking in. After almost three years of dealing with plantar in my right foot, any kind of conditioning for distance walking is out the window ...
If nothing else, meeting up for a short walk and maybe a potluck picnic could be a great way to go!
