Paula -

great pics.  I love the horse picture.

My sisters both ride (one sister has a horse ranch and does competitive trail rides and dressage with her mustangs), but I swear, I get on and fall off the other side!

Thanks for sharing.

Well, here I am with my pics. The first pic was taken of me at a Christmas party in Dec 2000. I was at my highest weight of 248 lbs. The following Spring 2001 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and my weight loss battle began. The next pic of me is at my work station in 2004. I was at my lowest, this century, at approximately 170 lbs. I had lost 78 lbs. and still had a way to go. Well things started to back track when I started dating my BF/XBF and I slowly started gaining weight. By January 2007 I had gained back 40 lbs. That’s me in Columbia, South America holding a drink in my cousins back yard. Since then I have lost 22 lbs. and I am now back down to 188 lbs. I want to lose another 30 lbs. at least. This time I am not back tracking. Everything I do is about moving forward. In about 2 months I’ll update with another photo. Time flies when you’re having fun.

OK folks. Help! I’ve found a “then” picture and have had two “now” pictures taken but how did you get a full body picture small enough to post here. I’ve saved the images at the highest compression. I’m still at too many pixels long and the pictures go only to my knees. What do I have to do differently?

Everyone, you look absolutely stellar.  My jaw is on the floor, seriously.  Kudos to everyone, not only for losing the weight but for having the courage to post your “before” pictures.  (Though it’s easier when you’ve got a super-sexy “after” picture to post alongside it, isn’t it?)

Jdvis, most photo editing programs will allow you to change the file size by re-saving or exporting.  If you play around with the settings, I’m sure you’ll find it.

Cheers,
Julie

I’ll see if I can get these pictures attached. This is as real as it gets, Deb but until I get this posted I’m not sure whether the differences will show in the pictures.

My first picture is a “then” picture. I wore that blue flowered outfit more places than I want to remember because it was the only outfit that I could get into. In the picture I’m at my 35th college reunion in June 2005. I also wore it to a family wedding and I remember being ashamed because it was inappropriate compared to what others were wearing. Others who were actually larger than I was were dressed more appropriately.

My intention is to never wear the outfit again. But I put it on this morning for the next picture. The funny things is that my husband says he likes it. It just has too much emotional baggage for me.

The third picture is what I bought a few weeks ago to wear at a family wedding this August. It’s looser on me now than when I bought it and I might need to have it altered by August. Wouldn’t that be a kick???

I didn’t think to say it here to begin with because it’s in my thread but I also went through quite an ordeal with braces for a jaw problem and they’re off now. And my glasses are really just for reading but I tend to keep them on. For today’s pictures I took them off. And because I feel better about myself, I am now wearing makeup but it’s not just for the “now” photos.

Joan,

It would be awesome if you had to have the dress altered because it was too big!!

I noticed that you look younger in the picture with the white dress than in your first picture.  Your face just seems “fresher”: must be all the good food you’re feeding your body now!  smile

Emmi,

Congrats on not gaining back all the weight, despite the circumstances.  I know it’s been tough to have a partner who isn’t 100% supportive (isn’t that an understatement wink ).  But you’ll get back to 170 again, and you’ll surpass it too!
