I was, love the pearls. Thanks, Gina. It’s really cool to have people say I’m their hero. I can’t tell you how wonderful you just made me feel. Thank you.

Shawn… I think we need to start measuring progress in expletives. You have made a 10 expletive progress.... Bree has made a 16 expletive progress (no offense, she has been working at it for a longer period of time)… and Deb has made a 50 expletive progress! WHOA!!

Late night infomercials have nothing on the MTM forum! This thread has cause all weight loss experts in the history of civilization to give up and concede victory to Scott Smith and the MTM forum.

Well I guess I should have done a “before” when I started, but it’s been 2 1/2 months now, so I better take one(whether I’ll post it soon after I don’t think so), and then I have something to remember it all with. I mean sometimes we forget how far we’ve come, and pictures bring it all back to us.

Yes, Tim!

Very well put!

Deb - 28 May 2007 10:40 AM

I didn’t create it to be a “Great job, Deb” thread, but my goodness, I do thank you for all the kind comments. Your encouragement and support have deeply touched my heart. Thank you.

No, you didn’t, Deb. And we all know that. The best thing about this forum is the wonderful people and the fact that we can all be so honest. Everyone who has posted about you, Deb, believes what they have said. You totally rock! I don’t for one minute think that anyone would feel you were fishing for compliments. Please accept the praise and compliments. You totally deserve every, single one!

PS, You are still my hero xx

In that case… thanks, Shawn, for cursing “SEXAY!!” when viewing my before and current pics! cheese

I wonder if Julie comes to this section of the message board… because I think she can throw around a few “Crudmuffins” after seeing all of these pics. smile

Everyone’s progress is amazing.  I agree Deb, it is hard to take the advertisement before and after pictuers as true representations of the possibilities for the weight loss for normal people.  And I can completely empathize about posting the before picture.  Good job!  It was incredibly tough to face where I came from too.  But the more times I’ve showed people, the less difficult it is.  Here are my “then and now” pictures.  The first one is from April of 2005 at about 185 lbs, the second is from February of 2007, at 147 lbs.  I promise, there is no airbrushing!!  smile

Rock on Laura and everyone else.... (Gina… I forgot to mention that you are “glowing” in your current pic.)

I am sensing a lot of jealousy on the part of every other weight loss program in the country… Jenny Craig ain’t liking this (unless, of course, this forum has people enrolled in the Jenny Craig program).

I have developed an expletive formula…

1 expletive for every 5% of total body weight you lose
10 expletive bonus for losing 100 pounds or more
1 expletive for having a flat abdomen
1 expletive for having toned arms
2 expletive bonus for being “ripped”
5 expletives for shedding a cane or other walking device
1 expletive for moderating an adverse health exposure (such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol)
7 expletive bonus for reversing a medical condition (such as diabetes)
1 expletive for “glowing” and looking more confident in the “current” picture
1 expletive if you are sweating in your “current” picture

Laura… you just got 9 expletives!! HAHA.

(By the way, everyone, I am not trying to make this a competition… I am just acknowledging what changes make people go “Wow” when comparing “before” and “current” pictures.)

I found an old picture - one that I didn’t shred, and scanned it for the post.  This was taken back in 1981.  I was actually heavier than this before I got my wake up call.  The next picture is me and my buddy a year later, down 45 pounds.  Boy was he glad not to have to carry that extra weight.  I also lost 250 pounds from the sofa (divorced).  The last picture is at my current weight - 140 and holding.

I have a couple minutes available and this is the first I’m seeing this thread. Congrats to all of you on here! You are all truly amazing, beautiful, inspiring, and courageous people. I can’t wait to get together a couple pics so that I can show you how I have slowly evolved since 2000. I will post them tomorrow. I promise!
