Ladies and Gentlemen - my friend Jason Womack has arrived!

If you want to change and improve your life, a great way to begin realizing that you will become like the folks you spend your time with.  That’s what
is making this community so exciting.

In only a couple of days - the “tone” of the conversations and the quality of folks here has been incredible.

I was doing some thinking last night about the type of people we should all surround ourselves with when Jason came to mind.

Since our community is new and Jason is on the road most days of the year - I figured that he probably hadn’t check us out yet - so
I dropped him a note and here he is.

Get to know him well - you will be glad you did.

Welcome Jason!  We’re thrilled you’re here.

Hi Jason,
Wow, what a schedule, but it sounds like your used to running, considering your job’s hectic schedule.

Sounds like you have a plan for ‘06. I’m not quite that aggressive with my plan.  I just need to work on the consistency.

Take care,
Tom

It’s important to know that at the end of the day it’s not the medals you remember.  What you remember is the process-- what you learn about yourself by challenging yourself, the experiences you share with other people, the honesty the training demands—those are things nobody can take away from you whether you finish last or you’re an Olympic Champion.

To tri is to risk failure, not to tri is to guarantee it!

Me too!

This *just may* be the quote of the 21st century! I wish you the best, and encourage you to go for it…

Here’s how I track it, by the way…

Jason,
Are you “Getting Things Done”? grin
I sure am. Your company does incredible things and I highly recommend David Allen’s Book of the same name. It’s a fantastic system to get your life in order. It’s real world stuff - and simply delivers what the title promises. Clear thought for a cluttered world. Do yourself a favor and buy this book right away. Any chance of a “Getting Things Done” podcast in the near future?

Your fellow Road Warrior (100K in 2005)

Hey Adam-

When Jason and I spoke while having dinner at Season’s 52 in Orlando the subject of a podcast came up.  In fact, you can find his Fit and Effective podcast at http://www.fitandeffective.com

In the very near future, I’m considering adding an “interview” type podcast to the mix - Jason has stepped up to be the number one interview. I’ll be in California in a few weeks and we’re scheduled to get together for a visit.  Might be a good time to give the Marantz 660 a workout.  (ie - very cool digital recorder)

BTW - I’ve got the audio book “Getting Things Done” on my iPod right now.

Next - You: The Owners Manual.

Yes, that’s me…

I’m actually on the road this week in Minneapolis (just came off of a trip to NY and London last week).

I’m looking forward to spreading the news, in whatever way I can, about how to manage goals, nutrition, AND time...when life is too busy to get it all finished.

By the way, I just did an interview over here…

A new “personal best” this morning in a local (local to Ojai, that is!) 5K race…
The time: 16:44!

I was absolutely amazed, this blows any record I had in this distance race. As a result, I’ve decided to train for, and race, the Strawberry Fields Triathlon in about a month…

Dude!!! That is awesome!  16:44 - hey, isn’t that where the fast people run?  And did I hear you did with with your iPod and Motivation To Move playing extra loud?  Too cool!

Did you know that since you spent 244 days on the road last year you can have run that same 16:44 almost 21,960 times if you weren’t so busy working?  Now that’s fit and effective!

Really…

With your travel schedule that’s one to be proud of.  You are one dedicated guy that we could all learn from - we can’t keep up with you but we can learn from you.

Now get your butt out there and don’t come back until you break another record… or you just want to say hi.  smile
