I am 37 years old with a wonderful wife and 2 spectacular kids. They are my life and everything I do, I do for them. I am a hands-on outdoorsy kinda guy. I like to strap on the skates and play hockey with my kids or have a winter BBQ and sleigh ride. In the summer we loose the sleigh and play slow pitch. Its all about the family.
I am a good cook, too good, it should be criminal. This is a big reason for my weight gain over the last couple years. Cooking was my release when I quit smoking ... I still enjoy it, but need to show some restraint on the consumption part.
Another big reason for for my fall from athletic grace was my job changed from being one of a strenuous nature to becoming an office jockey. Many hours were spent adjusting to the new schedule, pace and atmosphere. I, however, neglected to include exercise into my new life.
So I tipped the scales at 273lbs six weeks ago or so, and have since lost 21 lbs. I am on my way back to being the “fit me”. My goal is to get to between 10-12% bf and whatever weight I am at is my weight. I am not sure how much muscle I have left from years ago, but I am sure to get some of that back as well.
I don’t have any great pearls of wisdom to impart, nor do I want to attack this with more brawn than brains. I just want to get ‘er done, efficiently and steady. If too much time is devoted to fitness, the rest of the family will complain and not be of much support. I prefer that they join in and maybe we could have some fun together.
