Hi there, all: I’m Ross. I’m father to a teenage son and a seven-year old daughter. I’m husband to a beautiful and intelligent wife who teaches. I’m an educator, as well, having served in both teacher and administrator positions throughout my career. My wife and I have taught in Alberta’s MacKenzie region since 1991. And, I’m a Motivation to Move charter premium member who began listening to Motivation to Move back in October, 2006. Fitness – I prefer to be active. Prior to University and career, I’d always be found cycling, always taking active jobs, always hiking - the more active the better. Throughout my career I’ve struggled between the work that needs to be completed sitting still and the need for my body to be physically active. I’ve learned to manage sitting at a desk and balance that with regular physical activity. But, that learning didn’t come easily, nor was implementation of what needed doing easy … it’s been more something that comes through discipline and motivation. I’m still taking off the weight I put on through my career … but, I’m getting somewhere. For me, Motivation to Move has been a source of perspective for handling Life’s challenges … those that get in my way. It’s brought out ideas for improving and managing fitness and health. And, it’s bee a solid source of encouragement, understanding and support. It’s become a part of my daily and weekly routine … to good end; I’ve achieved much with Motivation to Move and my success continues. Do well! Ross |
