I’m pretty much of a solitary nerd who really likes bookish things!
I turned 48 in December 2006 and I determined that I want to be in the best shape of my life when I turn 50 in two years. I had yo-yo dieted my way up the scale from about 160 (at the time of my first diet) to about 275. About 7 years ago I read two books that changed my life - “Overcoming Overeating” and “When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies.” I stopped dieting and I was able to lose about 25 pounds without trying, but was still pretty sedentary.
I found the MTM podcasts in mid-December 2006 and my life hasn’t been the same since! I took on the 100 Days of Exercise Challenge and as of June 2007 I’ve lost another 25 pounds and ... more important to me ... I’ve developed a solid daily habit of exercise.
Thanks to the support I found here at MTM, I was able to complete the President’s Active Lifestyle challenge (http://www.presidentschallenge.org) and just received my Bronze Award! Now, it’s on to the Silver!
