totally didn’t see this one coming…
4 Comments Topic: Audio Programs, Weight Loss, Fitness & ExerciseOK so here’s the deal…
My dad (aka, your Scott) completely spun me around on last night’s live workshop about how to Start Moving & Start Improving.
By the way - if I confused you on the “my dad” bit above, let me introduce myself. This is Carlyn - Scott’s daughter and the girl who helps keep your motivation coming every week at MotivationToMove.com.
Look, EVERYBODY around Motivation To Move knows my dad has that uncanny knack for saying things in a way that just “clicks” - even if you’ve heard something similar a thousand (plus one) times before.
As Scott’s daughter and employee for what seems like a *really* long time now, I’ve had a front row seat to the creation of some pretty inspiring projects.

2009 Top 10 Countdown: #4 - Feeling Restricted By Your Spouse
0 Comments Topic: Weight Loss, Fun Stuff, Fitness & Exercise Listen To The Audio With This PostWhen it comes to getting ourselves motivated to change our lives for the the better, it seems like the hardest part is just getting started.
But if you’re married, that might not be true.
Big trouble tends to happen when one spouse decides to change and the other doesn’t. I see it all the time when one chooses to lose weight and shape up and the other chooses to eat ice cream - and it’s not good.
So, what do you do?
This episode of The Fitness Boost will give you a few great ideas you can use if you’re in that situation.

2009 Top 10 Countdown: #8 - Health & Fitness 101, Part 5
0 Comments Topic: Weight Loss, Fun Stuff, Fitness & Exercise Listen To The Audio With This PostIf you want to build a happy life, a foundation of fitness is where it all starts.
That’s something I think most folks around Motivation To Move agree with.
The challenge is - how do we get that in our life?
One way is to go back in time and simply DO what you DID in the past that WORKED for you… IF you can REMEMBER… what you DID.
Or… you could just try something shiny and new and maybe it will work better for where you are in your life now.
In this Fitness Boost episode you’ll pick up a few ideas that can really help you right away.

Can A Table Dance Really Burn Calories?
3 Comments Topic: Weight Loss, Fun Stuff, Life In Balance, Photos of ScottOkay, maybe I should re-word that and say, “Can I really burn calories by dancing on the table?”
Always one to love adventure, Joi and I, along with a few good friends, took advantage of living in Orlando and head to the tourist mecca of International Drive and Taverna Opa.
It was my second visit to this restaurant and both times our group was the first up on the table.
And yes, dancing on the table is encouraged at Opa and fits right in with the Belly Dancing, Napkin Throwing and general party atmosphere.
And I certainly appreciate the chance to work off some of my meal.
Thought you would enjoy the pictures.

So… Exercise Makes You Fat? (Plus Contest Results)
1 Comments Topic: Weight Loss, Fitness & ExerciseCarlyn here with Motivation To Move… It’s Friday afternoon and Scott’s already goofing off, so I’m going to sneak in here and hijacking his blog today.
I just got done posting this week’s MTM Show #213 for you. Now, I don’t do this very often - but I just HAD to shoot out a blog post about one of the topics that my Dad (er… Scott) talks about on this week’s show.
It’s something that I feel is near and dear to the heart of MTM, and I think you’ll understand why once you hear it.
First, some exciting news…
The Contest Results Are In...
Congrats to Danita from Seattle, WA and Steph from the UK - they each just picked up a free Premium Membership in last month’s “Share The Click” success story drawing.
I really appreciate everyone who sent in a letter this month, so guess what?… Read More

What I learned on my potty…
0 Comments Topic: Weight Loss, Fun Stuff, Personal GrowthLots of people ask me how I learn. See if this sounds familiar to you.
First, it depends on the medium.
If it’s a printed book, it’s going on the nightstand or (not to be gross) the back of the potty.
I’m a busy guy so I’ve got to get pretty creative to keep up with everything I read.
If it’s a video, I’m going to watch it on my computer in between recording podcasts and coaching, checking email, making phone calls, etc. It’ll be started and stopped dozens of times.
If it’s an audio course, I’ll put it on the speakers and listen while I work. I’ll put it in the iPod and listen when I workout. I’ll put it on in the car while I drive (hardly ever).
All of those are passive. All of those are piecemeal. Yes, I learn stuff… lots of stuff.
Yes, I absorb… Read More

Hi Carlyn,
I had registered for the program but then realized it was going to be taking place on nights when I am in school.
I just got done listening to session one and it was fantastic! I am glad we had the opportunity to download it.
Will this option be available for the other sessions? Do I need to register for each session or was I registered for all of them when I registered for the first one?
Thanks!
Andrea

Kalleen - So glad you’re enjoying the SMSM so far! You’re right - this first workshop was aimed more toward creating a foundation for fitness. Each of the workshops are following along with each week of the Start Moving Stay Moving, so in the next 3 sessions we’ll be focusing less on how to get started, and more on how to incorporate a healthy lifestyle for the long term. Here’s what’s coming in the next few weeks:
Workshop #2: “How Bad Do I Want It?”
Feb 10 7pm eastern
Workshop #3: “How Do I Want To Feel?”
Feb 17 (time TBA)
Workshop #4: “Stay Moving For Life - Tricks to Making It Stick”
Feb 24 (time TBA)
Hope to see you there!
