Do What Makes Your Heart Sing
5 Comments Topic: MotivationIt never ceases to amaze me how life delivers you to exactly the place you need to be - just when you need to be there.
This week, like many of you, I have spent a good amount of time planning an awesome 2010 and dreaming of what the future will hold.
I love this time of year, and this process!
When I get rolling, I always keep in mind one of my favorite principles, “Keep It Simple - Because Simple Works”.
Even so, life gets in the way and sometimes I still feel the need to over complicate everything.
That is exactly what I was doing today until I attended a funeral for a member of Joi’s family and was snapped back to reality.
Life is so normal for me these days that I didn’t even notice that in the three years since Sheryl passed away - this would be my… Read More

0 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff, Motivation, Personal Growth Listen To The Audio With This PostDo you remember how to dream? I really… really… really hope so.
Dreaming about what “could be” is one of the few things in life that is totally free and tons of fun to do. And since all of your goals in life are built upon what you dream - they’re pretty important to your success too.
Remembering how to dream is all about getting into the core of who you are and building your life from the inside out - and that’s what this episode of The Daily Boost will remind you how to do.

2009 Top 10 Countdown: #3 - How To Use Transitional Identity In Your Life
0 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff, Motivation, Personal Growth Listen To The Audio With This PostWho YOU are is the most powerful thing you own. It’s called your identity and you can’t live without it.
So, what do you do when you want to make a few changes in your life and you suddenly feel totally out of your comfort zone?
Think of it this way.
When you decide to change something in your life, you are really changing from one identity to another - with a BIG GAP in between that just plain feels strange.
The trick to fixing that is to engage the power of “Transitional Identities” to hold you over while you move forward - and that’s the subject of this Daily Boost.

I Need A GPS For My Life
0 Comments Topic: Flying, Life In Balance, Motivation, Personal GrowthIt’s been said that once you take to the air, you always look skyward.
That is certainly the case with me.
Learning to fly a few years back and now working on my Instrument Rating, I am constantly amazed that they actually let me fly an airplane all by myself.
It’s been a great adventure and from the very beginning, I’ve always known that becoming a pilot was a lot like learning to live life.
The other day Air Traffic Control cleared me for take off on Runway 27 out of Sanford, Florida.
I was just about ready to go, when a quick glance at the GPS told me everything I needed to know about flying and life.
You see, even though I started at the beginning, practiced for hours and hours to gain experience and even brushed up on my skills with a little retraining along the way…

My Favorite Saying, “I Workout So I Can Go Out”
2 Comments Topic: Good Eats, MotivationFew of the words that come out of my mouth are more powerful than those six.
Ever since I lost 80 pounds… and kept it off… it’s a mantra I live by to keep me happily living in the Kingdom of Thindom despite the offerings made by restaurant gods each and every day.

Ever since I lost 80 pounds… and kept it off… it’s a mantra I live by to keep me happily living in the Kingdom of Thindom despite the offerings made by restaurant gods each and every day.
It must go back to my “Be Prepared” Boy Scout days and it always seems to keep me out of trouble, or at the very least, give me a path back to normal.
But what happens when you don’t “Go Out” and the God just happens to be… Read More

The Mindset Of Motivation
0 Comments Topic: Motivation, Personal GrowthWhen I founded MotivationToMove.com, I did it largely based on the simple concept that when we can gain control of our thoughts, we not only change our body, we change our entire life!
As a guy who lives in Orlando, I spend a lot of time at Disney World, where one of my favorite Walt Disney quotes, “If you can dream it, you can build it”, is played out in living color. What a dreamer; what a builder!
Still, if you have ever wanted something different in your life, have you noticed your mind doesn’t always get the memo?
What’s going on has everything to do with your Mindset – because no matter what you might be thinking – you are thinking something.
Your Mindset is simply the sum total of all your beliefs, values, identity, expectations, attitudes, habits, decisions, opinions, and thought patterns…

And The Survey Says…
1 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff, MotivationDo you remember a couple of weeks ago you filled out that survey for me?
First, THANK YOU for sharing a little bit of what’s inside that noggin of yours!
If you were one of the 500+ folks who helped me out - You Rock!
Congrats to my 3 super-duper randomly drawn winners, Brenda, Matt, & Serge who have already picked up a couple months of my MTM Premium Membership - on the house.
Okay… I promised I would share some of the results with you and trust me, it took me a while to read each and every answer.
One of the questions I asked was:
“Imagine you are having dinner with friends and they ask, ‘What is Motivation To Move?’ How would you describe us to them?
I…

Tele-seminar replay and a really cool letter…
0 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff, Motivation, Personal GrowthI’m getting ready to take off for the weekend but I wanted to drop you a note and let you know Carlyn just finished editing the audio from the “How To Create My Perfect Day” tele-seminar I did a couple of days ago.
It’s really good stuff and you know what’s really cool?
During the seminar I was just blasting out information like a fire hose and hoping you guys could keep up.
Then I get this letter today…
Hi Scott,
First, thanks so much for a great teleseminar last evening. I think this
perfect day approach is setting off some rapid-fire clicks!I wanted to just share a thought with you - the most important question I
heard last night (which I didn’t realize this morning when I woke up with a
messy kitchen) is What do I have to do every day to… Read More

Hi Carlyn,
I had registered for the program but then realized it was going to be taking place on nights when I am in school.
I just got done listening to session one and it was fantastic! I am glad we had the opportunity to download it.
Will this option be available for the other sessions? Do I need to register for each session or was I registered for all of them when I registered for the first one?
Thanks!
Andrea

Kalleen - So glad you’re enjoying the SMSM so far! You’re right - this first workshop was aimed more toward creating a foundation for fitness. Each of the workshops are following along with each week of the Start Moving Stay Moving, so in the next 3 sessions we’ll be focusing less on how to get started, and more on how to incorporate a healthy lifestyle for the long term. Here’s what’s coming in the next few weeks:
Workshop #2: “How Bad Do I Want It?”
Feb 10 7pm eastern
Workshop #3: “How Do I Want To Feel?”
Feb 17 (time TBA)
Workshop #4: “Stay Moving For Life - Tricks to Making It Stick”
Feb 24 (time TBA)
Hope to see you there!
