More Holiday Surival Tips

0 Comments Topic: Weight Loss

One of my favorite sayings is, “I workout so I can go out”, and I really mean it!

With the arrival of the holiday season, all of us will be “going out” a bit more than usual… and that means a little self-defense is in order to make sure we stay on track.

A great place to start is my “Holiday Survival Guide” Teleseminar I recorded last year.  It’s filled with great tips to get you through the season with minimal weight gain and you can download your copy by going to Holiday Survival Guide.

And, here’s something else that you’re really going to enjoy.

My friend and Premium Member, Sandy Shepard, has a great website and podcast that is all about empowering women to be their best - and that includes during the holidays.

Sandy and I had a great discussion on her podcast that will give you even more great ideas.  Take… Read More

Happy Thanksgiving

0 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff

So here we are again - enjoying another Thanksgiving Day with our family and friends.  For me… it’s a very exciting day that has me more thankful than ever.

Last year was the first Thanksgiving since my late wife Sheryl passed away and it could have been a tough year.  Don’t get me wrong - she was on my mind every moment and still is most days.  Still, I made a choice that I thought would eventually help ease my pain, and it turns out that I was right.

Thanksgiving last year was in my new home with my soon to be new wife Joi and her family.  Our new blended family was still getting to know each other and I knew the best way would be to quickly establish our own traditions that we could carry on year after year.  One of them was dressing for dinner.

I know it sounds simple but our families, like many, had ever dressed up… Read More

Guided Motivations Relaxing South Africa

1 Comments Topic: Motivation

I needed to share this letter with you from one of my Motivation To Move Premium Members.

Hi Scott,

With our exchange rate in South Africa, I opted not to join the Mastermind Group or the meal planner, but would have been very disappointed to have missed your Guided Motivations for the same reason.

I am therefore emailing to thank you for this bonus with my Premium membership.  I am really looking forward to these meditative motivations in these stressful times!

This has been one of my most difficult years - I nearly lost my first business while starting a second one, started studying a very demanding post graduate management degree and embarked on a demanding workout and eating schedule.

Although it sounds like this would be overdoing it and cause conflicts, listening to MtM and following the guidance has helped me to manage my stress and well being in order to achieve… Read More

It’s My Birthday

6 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff

Who ever said, “If I had know I would live this long would have taken better care of myself” was a very wise person.

Today I’m celebrating my 49th birthday and I can tell you… I am in the best shape of my life!

Sure, the knees hurt a little more than they did a few years ago and it seems those darn weights are getting heavier by the day.  Still, I have never felt better in my life - and I’m loving life.

Today I was trying to figure out exactly when the “click” happened that finally got me on track to losing weight, shaping up and really enjoying my life.  Turns out it was almost 7 years ago.

It seems like a long time yet it flew by in the blink of an eye.

The journey since has been filled with all the ups and downs life can throw at you yet here I am today looking and feeling better… Read More

Discover Your Purpose in Life With THE Secret Question

1 Comments Topic: Motivation

At some point in our lives we all seek to find the purpose of our life and will ask questions like, “Why am I here?” and “What am I supposed to do?”

When you think about it, the one hundred or so years most of us have on this planet is a long time…  we I might as well be productive.

But how do you figure out what some already seem to know?

Have you ever noticed how some folks seem to have their life figured out from the time the doctor slapped them on the butt and brought them into the world - while others almost stumble upon their purpose?

Then, there are those few who never find their purpose and don’t care if they ever do and some who never got the memo they should be looking for their purpose in the first place.

What about the rest of us?

The truth is, most folks in this… Read More

New York Times Says It All

0 Comments Topic: Weight Loss

Joe Spears is one of my long time Premium Members and recently sent this clipping from the New York Times.  I thought I would share.

“For the last few decades, the most popular diets were complex formulas that promised abundant eating with just the right combination of fat, protein and carbohydrates.  Now those regimens are starting to look like exotic mortgages and other risky financing instruments.  And just like a reliable savings account, good old calorie counting is coming back in fashion.”

Thanks Joe.  That just about says it all.

Consistency Is Key To Getting Exercise Results

6 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff

As a guy who spends every day of my life help other folks lose weight, shape up and find happiness in their life, I’m always getting this question, “what’s the secret to getting in shape”?

You won’t like the answer because it’s so simple that most folks won’t do it.  Just BE consistent.  That’s it!

When it comes to getting anything you want in your life, it all comes down to just showing up every day and doing a little bit at a time.

It’s like being a baby and taking your first small “baby steps”.  Keep going long enough and before you know it you’ll be running marathons.

As a guy who seemed to take over 40 years to understand that simple concept, I thought I would post a couple of pictures of me and Joi.  Look!  Abs!

All I do is show up every day and do the best I can do.  The… Read More

Working Out With Jim From New Jersey

2 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff

If you’ve listened to The Daily Boost, The Motivation To Move Show, The Fitness Boost and my other programs, you’ve heard my talk about my great Premium Members.

I love my members and they are really some great folks.  That’s why I love it when they visit me here in Orlando - usually with a workout!

Jim from New Jersey met Joi and I at 6 am for a workout.  I’ve got to tell you, he’s a great guy who’s already taken off 75 pounds with more on the way. The workout… and the conversation was great.

So, thanks Jim for pushing us a bit - we really enjoyed it!

And remember, if you’re ever in town be sure to drop me a note.  We’ll get together for a workout, for lunch or dinner, or just to have some coffee.

My November Tradition

0 Comments Topic: Motivation

Is there a time of the year when you just lose it?  I mean, lose it or not lose it in terms of diet and exercise.  It used to be that way for me until I started my November tradition.

It’s a November tradition for me – starting a diet when everybody else is stopping.

With the holidays just around the corner – it’s time to pay attention.  Here’s what I mean.

The average person gains 8 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years.  And so did I in years past, until I started my November Tradition.  It’s simple.

Every November I start a diet – the reason?  To save up some extra calories for all those extra holiday temptations that aren’t normally part of my life.  My goal is not to lose weight – it’s to maintain and enjoy the season.  Do that and you’ll also have more energy and a lot less stress during the most stressful… Read More

What I Learned At Biketoberfest

0 Comments Topic: Fun Stuff

In 2003 I decided to take full advantage of my right to a great “Midlife Crisis” and purchased my fist Harley-Davidson motorcycle.  Since the, my friend Sid and I have been to Daytona Bike Week each March and Biketoberfest in October every year.

Over the years we’ve both enjoyed put lots of miles on our bikes - usually with our wives on the seat behind us.

This year on our trip to the beach Sid made a comment that stuck with me when we were on Main Street in Daytona and he said, “these folks aren’t holding up so well… and I’m right there with them”.

The sad part is,  he was right.  The crowd was older… and fatter… and so was Sid.

Now Sid has always been in great shape and even though he had put on a few pounds he knew exactly how to turn things around and I’m sure he will.

As for me? … Read More

RECENT

I absolutely loved his reference to the brick wall. Never mind that the wall was going to be this huge accomplishment (Life). It really is about focusing on how each brick you lay (every day) is put created, structured and executed in the best way possible. Before you know it, that series of “perfect days” creates the “perfect life”

Thanks for sharing the video. Love the message!

You need to PYOTB for the job well done on Day 6 of the new SMSM program, I loved what you did with the bonus day/ music mix…I tried a few of these in the past from other downloads, but your prsentation was terrific…maybe I am partial to you.  You mixed in just enough of your voice, music, motivation and comments.  Would love to see (I mean hear) more of this.  You made the intervals seem a breeze to push through.  Great job Scott. Talk to you soon.
